Silver Mountain Distribution launches The Edge of Chaos to World Markets

A Cork-based production is on its way to worldwide distribution as The Edge of Chaos reaches out in search of an audience.

Silver Mountain Distribution, the Irish global sales and marketing division of Carey Fitzgerald’s Silver Mountain Productions announced the launch in the international marketplace of Sam Uhlemann’s debut feature film The Edge of Chaos. Produced by Juliane Wothe of New Stage Films and written and directed by Sam Uhlemann, the film was produced with the backing of the Irish Film Board (Bord Scannán na hÉireann).

The psychological thriller stars Aoibhinn McGinnity (NightFlyer, Kpyton,) who threatens to expose her wealthy father Derek’s corrupt business dealings in order to force him to sign the successful family business over to her. Played by Sean Mahon (Philomena, EastEnders,) patriarch Derek is no stranger to dirty politics, having calculated an intervention for his daughter, bringing the whole family together for the first time in years when unhealed wounds and trauma are exposed, revealing deep, dark family secrets.

Winner of the Best Drama Award at the British Independent Film Festival, Bristol and selected for the Cork International Film Festival, the Chicago Irish Film Festival and the Montreal Film Festival to date, Silver Mountain will be launching the film worldwide this month.

Silver Mountain’s Creative Director Dominique Murphy-de Neef commented;

“Sam Uhlemann’s debut film is a remarkable piece of work. He manages to bring intrigue and high drama together whilst dealing with the psychological problems and addiction often stemming from long buried family secrets and trauma. We are looking forward to launching this film into the world markets.”

Juliane Woth from New Stage Films added:

“When I first read the script for The Edge of Chaos I was immediately committed to producing the movie. Sam is an incredibly talented writer, who works very diligently and methodically to create a strong vision for his projects. We were also incredibly lucky receiving such massive financial support from Screen Ireland. Now, we are beyond excited to see our movie being internationally released with Silver Mountain as a strong partner on our side. We are convinced that The Edge of Chaos will find its audience and that it will have the success it deserves.”
