Dublin Bowie Festival Brings Starman To The Screen In 2017

The second Dublin Bowie Festival will take place citywide this January, beginning on Thursday 5th of January and continuing until Tuesday the 10th, the one year anniversary of David Bowie’s death. With last year’s festival happening to coincide with that event, interest was naturally high and the festival is already expanding considerably, with a programme of live music, Q&A panels and more, celebrating the impact that David Bowie had on art and pop culture. Included in that, of course, is a look at the musician’s work in film, with the Light House Cinema set to host a number of screenings of Bowie-related cinema in January 2017.

The Smithfield cinema yesterday announced screenings of classic films for Bowie fans, Labyrinth and The Man Who Fell to Earth on January the 7th and 8th. The documentary David Bowie Is, a tour through the exhibition of the same name that goes through the artist’s life, will be shown on January the 10th, with another screening also taking place after the festival, on March the 12th. Tickets and info about these screenings is available from the cinema now.

With Bowie nostalgia still going strong almost a year after his passing, interest is sure to be high in these films and tickets will go fast. With that in mind, be sure to get your orders in asap, without being distracted by a fancy dress fantasy inside a crystal ball.

Look, we’ve all been there.
