The premise is simple: two broke filmmakers recreate an iconic film trope in a beach bar in the Sultanate of Oman. How far would you take a joke? Broke and lacking meaning in their lives, two struggling filmmakers set out to recreate an iconic film trope for their friends as a surprise. What starts as a fun experiment soon envelops them completely as they go to increasingly greater lengths to ensure their surprise goes off without a hitch.
Filmed entirely on location in Oman, With Compliments from the Gentlemen Across the Bar in Oman is both a ridiculous, lovingly made tribute to cinematic obsession—and a story about how far we’ll go to make something special for the people we care about.
“We wanted to make this movie at a point in our lives when things weren’t working out as planned. Broke and bored in London, the only thing we knew was that we wanted to make a film and that we wanted to hang out with our friends. Our love of an iconic film trope fused with this and we
