The IFTAs 2025 winners

The Irish Film and Television Awards for 2025 took place on Friday, with Irish screen stars arriving in Dublin to receive the awards and adulation of their peers.

Kneecap was the big winner for film on the night, taking home four awards including Best Director for Rich Peppiatt, but it was Small Things Like These that took home the honour for Best Film, which also saw Cillian Murphy awarded for Best Actor. Saoirse Ronan received awards for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress for The Outrun and Blitz respectively, while Brian F. O’Byrne was acknowledged for his fantasically fun supporting turn in Conclave, the IFTA pick for Best International Film.

Old and new generations of Irish acting excellence were awarded, as Irish icon Colm Meaney was presented with the Irish Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, for his outstanding contribution to the Irish and international screen industry, across both film and TV, while Anthony Boyle, breakout star of shows Say Nothing and Masters of the Air, was announced as the 2025 Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland IFTA Rising Star.
