Naughty or Nice back again in December 2022

It’s that time of year again – the Naughty or Nice programme at the Light House Cinema was announced this week. The Christmas season of films at the Smithfield cinema is here, with the usual selection of Christmas favourites and deep cut delights on offer from December 4th – 31st.

Naughty or Nice 2022 kicks off in the first week of December with a showing of The Muppet’s Christmas Carol on the 4th. It’s the beloved Dickens/Henson crossover’s 30th anniversary and a great way to start the season. Elf and the Home Alone films have their usual slots, but it isn’t all wholesome family fun. Eyes Wide Shut has made its way into this year’s programme, screening on the 15th, while Sean Baker’s modern Tangerine is another new entry, showing on the 12th, while Boogie Nights is this year’s pick to ring in the New Year. It’s the cinema’s advent calendar for film lovers, and new programmer David Kelly is looking forward to a month of festive fun.

“This year’s Naughty or Nice season is a Christmas cake filled with joy, singing, warmth and friendship, with some Kubrick and Bergman sprinkles for good measure. As always, we’re excited about seeing you all this December for a merry mix of old favourites and modern classics, and a gigantic cherry on top as we bring you a party like no other with Sing Along Social and Elf! So get your dancing shoes and remember, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!”

– David Kelly, Light House Programmer
