A series of classic road movies will be showing in Smithfield over the next week, as the Light House Cinema celebrates the arrival of the Road House Cinema to Smithfield Square.
The Road House Cinema, a newly refurbished 96 seater cinema-on-wheels, first pulled up to the square back in February. The snowy weather had an impact on its screenings of I, Tonya, but things are looking considerably brighter now and the cinema will spend its time travelling around Ireland, visiting film, comedy and music festivals, hosting school and community screenings and making itself available for private and corporate hire. The Road House is kitted out with a state of the art 4k digital projector and surround sound system to deliver a pristine cinematic experience to film lovers, anytime, anywhere.
From this Friday April 27th until Thursday May 3rd, the Light House Cinema will be celebrating their new sister cinema with a selection of classic road movies, from New Hollwood to recent beloved blockbusters. The series will Terrence Malick’s Badlands, beloved Aussie cult hit The Adventures of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Light House favourites like Mad Max: Fury Road and Thelma and Louise and more.
