Have you got an itch for art and a taste for horror? Ever dreamed of turning yourself into a zombie? Kids aged nine and up will have the chance to learn how to transform into a spooky zombie as part of the fun of this year’s Audi Dublin International Film Festival.
An industry professional will be on hand to help participants transform themselves with some monsterish make-up. Julie-Ann Ryan, a special effects makeup artist who has worked on television shows such as The Tudors, Vikings and Game of Thrones will be teaching a class in making zombie prosthetics at The Ark in Temple Bar.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, the 10th of February, from 11am-3pm. In this workshop, Julie will show just how she uses prosthetics to create realistic characters. Everyone will then get to try some of these skills out for themselves, and turn into a zombie to put the frighteners into their friends and family! The workshop includes a lunch break so children are advised to bring a packed lunch. No brains please.
This workshop is part of the Fantastic Flix programme of ADIFF 2018 and presented by The Ark in partnership with the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. The Fantastic Flix programme is supported by Cheesestrings. Tickets are available now from The Ark, and cost €16/€14 (20% off for members).
