Marvel have unveiled the teaser trailer for their latest movie. Or rather, their latest movie once Spider-Man Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok are cleared from their packed release schedule. The teaser, released during Game 4 of the NBA Finals last night, gives plenty of exciting glances at the film and reasons to believe that Creed director Ryan Coogler has successfully put his own stamp of action and excitement into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first film with a black superhero as the lead.
Chadwick Boseman reprises his role from Captain America: Civil War as T’Challa, the Black Panther and newly crowned ruler of the African nation of Wakanda. Wakanda, as Andy Serkis can be seen explaining in the teaser, is more than it appears to be at first glance. It’s a sealed-off land of high-tech afrofuturism, with classic Jack Kirby designs being brought to life by production designer Hannah Beachler, who worked on Coogler’s last two films, as well as Moonlight. The teaser shows exciting action, a hell of a haircut for Michael B. Jordan and a fresh look for Marvel movies, all set to Legend Has It by Run The Jewels. Watch it for yourself below and let us know what you think.
Black Panther is out in cinemas in February 2018.
