Ireland’s sole web series festival Dub Web Fest has launched the schedule for its second year, featuring web series from every corner of the globe and workshops from a variety of film and media professionals. The festival will take place from the 18th to the 20th of November at Filmbase in Temple Bar. Budding creatives will have the opportunity to learn a lot, meet like-minded individuals and see what web series creators from all over the world are capable of with a little creativity (and in some cases an even littler budget). See the full schedule here.
Highlights include an actors panel on Friday 18 November, where Eddie Jackson (Game of Thrones), Aiobheann McCaul (Fair City), Tony Kelly (The Hurler) and Karen Healy (Pondering Metal) will discuss their experiences, future projects and the changing nature of traditional TV versus online content. On Saturday 19 November, sound designers Niall Brady and Steve Fanagan will use their work on Lenny Abrahamson’s Room as a case study to discuss and examine how sound design can be vital in visual storytelling. Also that day, screenwriter James Moran, writer of Severance, Tower Block, several episodes of Doctor Who and the seminal Cockneys Vs Zombies will be hosting a writer’s masterclass.
Ticket prices start from €8 for screenings. Also available are tickets for the whole shebang costing €80, or you can opt for a day pass at €30. The festival runs from the 18th to the 20th of November at Filmbase in Temple Bar.
