The Lodgers, a gothic ghost story directed by award winning filmmaker Brian O’Malley comes to Irish cinemas on March 9th 2018.  Written by musician and Professor of Gothic literature, David Turpin and produced by Julianne Forde and Ruth Treacy of Tailored Films, it was filmed in Loftus Hall in Wexford, widely recognised as the ‘most haunted house in Ireland’.

WFT Ireland presents a masterclass in presenting your funding application and getting your project off the ground, courtesy of the funders themselves. Next Monday the 5th of February, WFTI will be hosting from the Morrison Hotel from 3.30 to 5.30, as industry professionals outline what it takes to write a killer funding application.

Irish feature documentaries, Frankie Fenton’s It’s Not Yet Dark, and Neasa Ní Chianáin and David Rane’s In Loco Parentis have been selected to screen at the prestigious 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Both documentaries are funded by Bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board and will compete in the World Cinema Documentary Competition, a category for which 12 films are shortlisted. For one-sixth of the films in this competitive category to be Irish stories speaks to the current quality of documentary making in Ireland.

Following on from the announcement last month that Irish films The Secret ScriptureUnless and Maudie as well as Northern Irish film The Journey were selected for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, it was announced today that two more Irish productions will be having their world premieres at TIFF. Irish film Without Name and the Irish co-production Forever Pure have joined the list of films chosen to be shown at the prestigious film festival.
