A love letter to Irish mythology with a feminist twist, short film TETHERED  is an intriguing project currently seeking crowdfunding. takes a look at two different women harshly punished for being young. TETHERED is a dark, bittersweet and supernatural Irish fantasy film that promises to explore the power of folklore, family and friendship. The short is inspired by Irish mythology and our nation’s traditions of storytelling, as well as serving as an homage to 1980s genre films like Poltergeist, Cocoon, Labyrinth and The Watcher in the Woods – but all with a stridently feminist twist.

The New Music is a film that looks at a little know medical condition, as well as the struggle to readjust your life when things don’t turn out the way you initially planned. The film tells the story of Adrian, a classical pianist with extraordinary talent, who discovers he has Young Onset Parkinson’s, a rare form of Parkinson’s Disease affecting sufferers under fifty. Despite this debilitating condition, Adrian joins a punk band as a keyboard player and rediscovers his life through music and love.

The shooting of the film has now concluded, with a crowd-funding campaign underway to ensure the film’s release and raise funds for Young Parkinson’s Ireland. Film In Dublin spoke with the film’s director Chiara Viale, as well as actor Cilléin McEvoy about the film and their efforts to see it released.

Attention Irish horror fans! Lock in is an intense psychological horror feature film from writer/director Malcolm Deegan. The film tells the story of Robert O’ Rourke, a recluse who struggles day by day to remember his identity. Closed away from the outside world, Robert is plagued by visions that may or may not be real.  Soon Robert awakens into a nightmare that is very real and will change him forever. The film is currently seeking production funding to help complete the project, turning to crowdfunding to ensure their film gets made.
