Sing along with The Greatest Showman for the August Bank Holiday Weekend


Is this the greatest show? The Greatest Showman didn’t make a huge impression with critics when it was released in Ireland at the start of this year, but that must show what critics know…the film has become a mega-hit worldwide, with remarkable staying power. The cast recording of the musical’s songs is still No. 2 in the Official Irish Albums Chart, having spent 25 weeks charting, and despite being released in January, there are still screenings of the film at the likes of Movies@Swords/Dundrum. Thanks to Retro-Drive In though, those aren’t your only avenues to see The Greatest Showman this summer.

Retro Drive-In will be having a special sing-along screening of the film at Leapardstown Racecourse on Sunday, 5th August. The fans that have been keeping that soundtrack at the top of the charts will have the chance to belt out the film’s hits, including The Greatest ShowThis Is Me and more to their hearts content, within the confines of their cars as once again Retro Drive-In bring the nostalgic movie-watching method to new viewers. The film will be showing at 6pm that evening and is one of a variety of options for the August Bank Holiday weekend, with screenings of popular films including Mean GirlsDirty Dancing and Bridesmaids also available. Tickets are available at the Drive-In now.

Featuring songs from the musical duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, also Oscar winners for writing La La Land‘s City of StarsThe Greatest Showman is a bright, light and glitzy musical inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum, the sensationalist creator of the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Hugh Jackman is in his element here as Barnum, and Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya are among the film’s cast. Fans of the film will certainly want to roll up to Leapardstown this August.
