Show Dogs show their charitable side this Sunday
A special charity fundraising screening of the upcoming family film will be taking place this Sunday.
Look, we’re going to be straight with you. Show Dogs the upcoming kids film which sees Will Arnett team up with a crimesolving canine, in the style of…um, K-9, isn’t exactly at the top of our must-see list here at Film In Dublin. That being said, if there is one thing at the top of our must-see list at any and all times, it’s most certainly dogs, dogs of the happy and healthy variety. This Sunday, May 20th, an advanced screening of the film will aid that very thing. The proceeds from this early look at Show Dogs will go towards the Irish Blue Cross, the animal care charity which provides a mobile vet service across Dublin.
The screening will take place at 12pm sharp at the Odeon cinema at the Point Square. Tickets will cost €10 each and will be available at the cinema on the day.
The film sees uptight, stubborn FBI detective Frank (Will Arnett) reluctantly team up with the macho, independent police dog Max (Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges) to go undercover at the world’s most prestigious dog show in order to crack a difficult case. With the help of a pack of hilarious hounds, seasoned animal trainer Mattie (Natasha Lyonne) and aerial surveillance from three dedicated pigeons, both Max and Frank start to realise that true friendship can be found in the most unlikely of places and that dogs really are a man’s best friend. Family fun for a good cause if your kids are dog-lovers, and if you’ve ever wanted to hear Shaquille O’Neill voice a komondor, this is certainly the film for you.
…I swear that Han Solo review is coming folks, I’m working on it.
