Fantastic Mr. Anderson season at the Light House is *click-click*

The release of Wes Anderson’s latest film Isle of Dogs is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year for film fans of a certain strand, those who love all things tweed and twee and meticulously designed. As part of the build up to the film’s general release on the 30th of March, the Light House Cinema has announced a retrospective season of the films of Wes Anderson, screening the director’s entire filmography this March.

The director’s famously idiosyncratic and instantly recognisable visual style will be on full display from March 5th – 30th , as every Wes Anderson film and their trademark mix of sardonic wit and sensitive spirit will be showcased on the big screen. Frequent Anderson collaborators including former writing partner Owen Wilson, the near-ever-present Bill Murray, the incomparable Jeff Goldblum and more will have their talents on display during the month.

A noteworthy highlight is the Prosecco and Patisserie screening of The Grand Budapest Hotel, taking place at 1pm on Saturday, March 24th. Tickets for this screening will include a glass of Prosecco or a Grand Budapest-themed cocktail along with some delicious patisserie treats inspired by the film, as the Light House treats patrons as well as if Gustave H himself were in charge of proceedings. The season of screenings will conclude with a ‘Wes Anderson Party’ a chance for fans to dress up as their favourite Wes Anderson characters. If you’re feeling a bit foxy, are particular to stylish tracksuits or have ever described another person as “your Rushmore”, this could be the party for you.

Tickets are available from the Smithfield cinema now right here and you can see the full schedule of screenings below.
